줄거리
남한산성으로 불리우는 육군 교도소. 안개가 자욱히 낀 새벽. 583번 사형수가 집행을 위해 갑자기 끌려 나온다.

역시 불시에 집합이 걸린 중대원들 중 5명이 지목된다.

이미 오랜 시간을 583번과 함께 보낸 그들 모두에게 형집행병 차출은 몹시 꺼림직한 일일 수밖에 없다.

황량한 사형집행장에 도착한 그들은 5발 중 한 발이 공포탄이라는 상사의 훈시에 따라 모두들 자신이 그 공포탄을 쏜 것이라고 생각하며 안개 속의 형집행을 끝내고 만다.

너무나 쉽게, 짧게 끝나버린 집단적 의식. (In an army prison, prisoner number 583 is being taken out to be executed in the foggy morning. Five soldiers are ordered to shoot him. They all have spent a long time with the prisoner in his death row, so they are reluctant. In a desolated execution place, the master sergeant tells them one of the bullets is an empty bullet. Five of them all think the blank bullet is his and easily finish the shooting.)
