줄거리
갯벌에서 한 남자와 그를 호위하던 7명의 무사들이 살해당한다.

남은 것은 검기에 의해 잘려진 칼 반토막. 범인을 색출해내야 하는 조문강은 명분을 위해 천유문 문주 부여풍을 범인으로 지목한다.

마침내 결전의 순간 부여풍과 조문강은 진짜 범인과 마주친다.

(At the foreshore, a man and his seven sword men are killed. What is left as evidence is a broken sword. Cho Moon-kang has to find the killer. To justify his position, he points his fingers to Chun Eu-Moon, Moon-ju, and Bu Eu-pung. At the moment of the last fight, Cho and Bu encounter the real killer.)
연출의도. 武에는 약육강식같은 역학관계가 있다.

하지만 이러한 견고한 법칙에도 일탈은 존재한다.

이 영화에서는 일탈의 이유를 의리(義理)라 규정했다.

그것은 정의와 신의로 대변되는 일반적인 관점과 달리 잠재적이고 순간적인 감정의 발현이다.

(The world of martial arts is governed by the law of the jungle ? the weak are the prey of the strong. But even there, deviation exists. In the film, the reason for deviation is defined as underlying and instantaneous ‘faith’.)
