줄거리
‘매드 독’조니는 승리에 대한 보상을 약속한 반군 대령‘네버 다이’에게 충성을 맹세 후‘어린이전사’들을 진두 지휘한다.

반군을 피해 남동생과 함께 도망치던 라오콜레와 일대일로 마주치게 되자 동료들 몰래 살려준다.

어린이전사들의 잃어버린 동심이 가슴 아픈, 소베르의 뛰어난 첫 번째 장편. (Fifteen-year-old Johnny is one of Africa’s thousands of child soldiers. Along with his small band of violent warlord wannabes, Johnny murders and terrorizes his way across what could be any town in Africa. In his path lies Laokol , a 13-year old girl with hopes that an education will be her salvation.)
