줄거리
축구 심판 푸세르도는 휘슬을 잘 불지 못한다는 이유로 가장 하위 리그로 밀려나게 되고 무차별 폭력으로 일그러진 하위리그 축구팀의 경기는 성경의 두 강도 이야기와 절묘하게 어우러진다.

영화제 소개글. 감독은 의식적으로 이야기 장르와 영상의 미학을 조화를 시도한다.

감독은 대서사와 기괴함 , 코메디와 비극 ,상위장르와 하위장르( 예를 들어 J.S. Bach’s 음악과 흑백영상) 즉, 신성함과 불결함으로 대표되는 것들을 적절히 조화시킴으로써 흥미를 주려고 한다.

이 작품을 본 관객들을 아마도 감독이 이탈리아의 두 유명한 감독들 ?세르지오 레오네와 페데리코 펠리니-에 의해 영감을 받았다고 할 지도 모르겠다.

왜냐하면 그들의 거대한 업적은 감독의 영화에 대한 열정에 큰 영향을 미쳤기 때문이다.

(L’Arbitro is a conscious attempt to play with narrative genres and cinematographic styles. I enjoyed very much mixing together the epic with the grotesque, comedy with tragedy, the low, with the high (as for example the use of J.S. Bach’s music or the black and white photography), the beastly with the divine. As some spectators of my work would probably guess, I was deeply inspired by two great Italian poets, Sergio Leone and Federico Fellini, because to a great extent it is to their work that I owe my passion for cinema.)
